SPEED RUN NOTES
Xcw speed-run notes
Win condition
Paint every required square in the zone by routing the balls across them, with no square left unpainted. Because a ball's path can seal the corridor behind it, the win hinges on reaching each pocket before its only entry closes.
Fastest line
Before each move, find the narrow pockets and single-entry areas that could get sealed off. Route the ball into those while their route is still open, then spend the remaining moves filling the larger connected region, since it stays reachable from several directions.
Input language
Tap, click, or swipe in the direction the active ball should travel, one move per input. Decide which pocket you are heading into before you commit, because a single direction choice is what either opens or seals the path behind the ball.
Opening play
Open by scanning for any square with only one way in, and send the ball there on the first few moves. Do not paint the easy central area first — filling it early can block the only route into a side pocket that you still need to cover.
Score signals
The run is healthy when every move leaves the remaining unpainted squares still reachable. A warning is a move that closes a corridor with squares still bare behind it, or a ball that finishes on the far side of a pocket it can no longer return to.
Recovery
If a square becomes impossible to reach, undo to the move that sealed its corridor and route the ball through that single-entry pocket first. Then go back to the open area, keeping the route into every remaining pocket alive until each one is painted.
Player questions: Higgs Ball Paint
How do I control Higgs Ball Paint?
Tap, click, or swipe in the direction the active ball should travel, one move per input. The control is simple; the real decision is which pocket to enter next before its only route closes.
Why does a square become impossible to paint?
A ball's path can seal the corridor behind it, cutting off every square beyond that point. Paint the single-entry pockets first and leave the open center for last, so no route closes while squares are still bare.
