Road Connection

Road Connection is solved by constraint, not by spinning tiles at random. Lock the pieces with only one valid direction first and the central junctions resolve themselves, cutting the whole route down to a few certain taps.

SPEED RUN NOTES

Xcw speed-run notes

01

Win condition

Connect the required road endpoints with one unbroken route where every tile's opening lines up with its neighbor, leaving no dead end and no disconnected piece. The level clears only when the full network joins, not when one path merely looks finished.

02

Fastest line

Sort the board into constrained and flexible pieces before rotating anything. Endpoints, corner tiles against an edge, and pieces with only one credible neighbor have a single correct direction, so set them first and let each fixed tile narrow the choices for the center.

03

Input language

Click or tap a road tile to cycle its orientation one step at a time; there are no drag or movement controls. Work outward from tiles you have already locked, because a tap only turns one piece and every random spin costs time.

04

Opening play

Begin with the two endpoint tiles and every corner piece sitting against a board edge. Give each its forced direction, then move inward one tile at a time, using the now-fixed neighbors to read what each central junction must become.

05

Score signals

The board is coming together when each new tile you orient snaps a section into an obvious, continuous run instead of leaving two competing exits. A red flag is a central piece that still has two or three plausible directions after its neighbors are set — that means an outer tile was locked wrong and is feeding the route a bad angle.

06

Recovery

If the center will not resolve, back out and re-check the corner and edge tiles you set early. Rotate one outer piece whose direction was assumed, trace the route from an endpoint again, and let the corrected edge propagate inward before touching any more central tiles.

Player questions: Road Connection

How do I control Road Connection?

Click or tap a road tile to cycle its orientation one step at a time. Work outward from the tiles you have already locked so each tap builds on a confirmed connection.

How do I cut down the guessing on a road board?

Orient the endpoints and corner edge-pieces first, since they have only one valid direction, then let them propagate inward. Central junctions become obvious once their surrounding tiles are fixed, so the route solves from the outside in.
