SPEED RUN NOTES
Xcw speed-run notes
Win condition
Draw a barrier that keeps the hazard from reaching the dog until the level's timer or threat passes. The wall only has to block the route between the dog and the incoming hazard, so a compact shield on the right side clears the level where a large loop with one gap fails.
Fastest line
Check the hazard's approach direction and the solid surfaces around the dog before drawing. Place the shortest wall that covers that exposed side with both ends resting on the terrain, so the shape cannot slide or tip when physics starts.
Input language
Hold the mouse button and drag to draw on desktop, or press and trace with one finger on touch, then lift to drop the wall. The start point and how far each end extends matter more than the line's exact curve, so set both ends before you release.
Opening play
Draw a single supported line across the hazard's incoming path on your first stroke, not a closed circle. A ring can rotate or leave a gap once it settles, while a line pinned between two solid points stays where you put it.
Score signals
The barrier is holding when it settles without sliding and the hazard stays stuck on its far side. A warning sign is the shape shifting, rolling, or letting the hazard squeeze under one end after release — that end needs to extend further past the threat line.
Recovery
If the dog gets hit, find the exact edge the hazard slipped through and close it. Extend that end a little past the threat line or anchor it against a new surface, then retest the same approach instead of redrawing a bigger shape everywhere else.
Player questions: Protect The Dog 3D
How do I control Protect The Dog 3D?
Hold and drag with the mouse, or press and trace with one finger, then lift to drop the wall. The choices that matter are where the wall starts and how far its ends extend.
Why does a full loop around the dog still fail?
A closed shape can slide, rotate, or open a gap once physics starts. Draw a supported line across the hazard's incoming path instead, and extend each end past the threat line so nothing can slip under it.
