SPEED RUN NOTES
Xcw speed-run notes
Win condition
The island advances by opening work areas and improving production until the current development milestone is met. Progress is measured in a working loop — collecting and reinvesting — not in a stockpile left sitting.
Fastest line
Route everything through the shortest working loop and only spend where a task repeats. The fastest island is one where every producer feeds the next without an idle leg between them, so treat each upgrade as a way to shorten a loop, not just raise a number.
Input language
Move the character with keyboard, mouse dragging, or a touch joystick. Collection and delivery trigger automatically when the character enters the marked zone, so the input is mostly routing, not button presses.
Opening play
Before spending, run one full collection-to-delivery trip and time its three legs — the walk, the pickup, and the drop-off. Put your first coins into the leg that ran slowest, because it is the step you will repeat on every single loop.
Score signals
A healthy loop shows output arriving at delivery just before the next pickup, with no station sitting empty. The warning is one resource stacking up while the station that uses it waits — that pile points at the next producer to fund.
Recovery
If progress stalls, look for the one link where nothing is moving — an idle producer or a workspace you have not opened — and save toward that single fix. Fund it fully instead of spreading half-payments across several, and the loop starts turning again.
Player questions: Idle Bear Island Polar Tycoon
How do I control Idle Bear Island Polar Tycoon?
Move with keys, dragging, or a touch joystick; collection and delivery trigger inside marked zones. Collect each producer's output and reinvest it to keep the loop moving.
Should I unlock a new area as soon as I can afford it?
Not always. Upgrade a repeated bottleneck first when a new area would add travel without improving how existing resources are processed. Fund one producer fully rather than several half-paid upgrades.
