SPEED RUN NOTES
Xcw speed-run notes
Win condition
Strike or clear every required target with the boat while staying inside the arena boundary. The round is won by landing direct hits without drifting out, not by how fast you charge around.
Fastest line
Set your angle before you build speed, then take the straightest line into the target's center. A direct hit from a moderate run-up clears the target in one pass, while a wide sideways sweep only glances and forces a second attempt.
Input language
Use the on-screen drag, swipe, or direction control to move or launch the boat; the strike and the movement share the same input. Keep gestures short and aimed at the target, because a long fast swipe carries you off line and into the boundary.
Opening play
On the first pass, line up the nearest target and push toward it with a moderate, straight run — resist a full-force charge toward the edge. Let the boat settle after that first contact before you aim the next one.
Score signals
A correct hit sends the target off cleanly and leaves open water ahead. If the boat drifts past a target with only a scrape, or you are correcting sideways at full momentum, you are on the wrong angle and about to hit the boundary.
Recovery
If you keep glancing targets, shorten the run-up and take the direct angle first, with no sideways correction once you are moving fast. A smaller well-aimed pass that hits the center beats a long charge that ends as a scrape on the edge.
Player questions: Boat Hitting Out
How do I control Boat Hitting Out?
Use the on-screen drag, swipe, or direction control to move or launch the boat; the strike and the movement share the same input. Keep gestures short and aimed straight at the target.
Why does the boat slide past a target without a strong hit?
Because a direct approach transfers more force than a late sideways correction, which only glances. Set your angle before you build speed and take the straight line into the target's center.
