SPEED RUN NOTES
Xcw speed-run notes
Win condition
A run clears when your final tap sends the ball into the goal without an early or late touch breaking the chain. The win is a clean sequence, beat the defender, settle the ball, finish, and it only counts when each tap lands inside its own window.
Fastest line
Follow the ball, not a memorized rhythm. The fastest run taps only when the ball reaches the marker, then reads the next direction immediately; a single on-time tap carries more progress than three late ones, so pause instead of spamming.
Input language
Tap or click once at the moment the ball and its timing marker align. There is no drag or direction input, because the tap both carries the ball and triggers the next action, so each press is one deliberate decision.
Opening play
For your first touch, let the ball travel to the marker before you press, even if it feels slow. That first on-time tap tells you the window's size and tempo; starting with a spam tap buries that information and forces you to relearn the timing from nothing.
Score signals
You are timing it right when the ball snaps forward the instant you press, with no pause or overshoot. A dropped pass, a flash, or the ball rolling past the marker are the failure signals, and any of them means that specific tap was early or late.
Recovery
After a broken chain, drop the rhythm you were using and replay only the first tap until it lands clean. Lock that single touch, then add the next tap one at a time; rebuilding one window at a time recovers the run faster than trying to save it mid-chain.
Player questions: Tap Goal
How do I control Tap Goal?
Tap or click once at the moment the ball lines up with its timing marker. The tap both carries the ball and fires the shot, so keep each press deliberate rather than tapping repeatedly.
Can I just tap continuously to keep the ball moving?
That resets your timing instead of helping it. Continuous taps bury the feedback you need, so wait for the ball to reach the marker and press once, keeping each touch a decision rather than a reflex.
