Basket Battle

Create separation from the defender, then release from the open side before the window closes. A clean gap scores faster than a rushed shot into coverage.

SPEED RUN NOTES

Xcw speed-run notes

01

Win condition

You win the round by outscoring the opponent, which means completing clean baskets faster than they can block you. Every possession should end with the ball through the hoop from a position the defender cannot reach, because made shots, not attempts, decide the round.

02

Fastest line

The fastest score is a two-move sequence: step away from the defender's coverage first, then shoot from that open side. Do not release from your first position, because a small reposition that clears the defender beats a fast shot that gets swatted, and a block costs you the whole possession.

03

Input language

Movement and the shot share one input, drag, swipe, or the on-screen directional control. Reposition with one deliberate gesture, then release with a second clean one; rushing both into a single swipe usually throws the ball into the defender.

04

Opening play

On the first possession, watch where the defender stands before you touch the ball, then move to the opposite side. Your opening goal is to create separation, not to score immediately; a clean window on the first pass sets the tempo for every possession after it.

05

Score signals

You are reading it right when your shot clears the defender with visible space. A block, a tipped release, or the defender drifting toward your strong side mid-move are the warning signs, and any of them means you shot from the covered side.

06

Recovery

If you keep getting blocked, slow down and re-make the gap before releasing. Move away from the defender, take the extra beat to find the open side, and shoot from there; rebuilding separation beats repeating the same blocked angle on every possession.

Player questions: Basket Battle

How do I control Basket Battle?

Movement and shooting share one input, drag, swipe, or the on-screen directional control. Reposition with one deliberate gesture, then release with a second clean one; keeping them separate beats a rushed single swipe.

Is good aim enough to score?

No. A perfectly aimed shot still gets blocked if you shoot from the covered side. Create separation from the defender first, then release from the open side before the window closes.
