SPEED RUN NOTES
Xcw speed-run notes
Win condition
Cross the finish line ahead of the rival while keeping the car on the tarmac through every bend. A corner only counts as cleared when the car straightens up still accelerating; sliding out wide and scrubbing speed is a loss even if you never touch the wall.
Fastest line
Start the slide just before the sharpest point of the bend and end it the moment the nose points at the exit — not when the car reaches the outer edge. The fastest lap is the one where you return to full speed earliest, so keep each drift only as long as the corner demands.
Input language
Steer with the keys, pointer, or touch input the player shows, and treat the press-and-hold as the drift switch: hold to start the slide, release to straighten. Keep the steering aimed at the apex while the drift is live so the release lines you up with the exit.
Opening play
On turn one, point the car at the outside edge, turn in once, and begin the slide just before the sharpest point — one committed line with no mid-corner corrections. Lock that entry-and-release on the opening bend and the car keeps its momentum for the rest of the lap.
Score signals
You are on line when the car straightens with the exit already ahead and speed keeps climbing. You are about to lose it when the tires scrub through the whole corner, the nose stays pinned toward the outer wall, or you need a second counter-steer after the apex — all signs you entered too fast.
Recovery
If you drift wide, release the hold early and let the car straighten before steering back on line; holding the slide longer only washes off more speed. Give up the apex on that turn, settle on the exit, then enter the next bend from further outside to rebuild momentum.
Player questions: Drift Race 3D
How do I control Drift Race 3D?
Steer with the keys, pointer, or touch input the player shows, and use the press-and-hold as the drift switch: hold to start the slide and release to straighten. Aim the steering at the apex so the release lines the car up with the exit.
When should I let go of a drift?
End the slide the moment the nose points at the exit, before the car drifts to the outer edge. An early release settles the car sooner and hands more speed to the next straight.
