Protect The Dog 3D sells itself as a cute drawing game where you sketch a wall around a dog before the hazard arrives. It is that, but the part that decides whether you pass is not the drawing. It is the placement, and placement is a geometry problem wearing a casual coat.
The wall you draw only works if it covers the direction the threat comes from. Draw a full circle and you usually waste the one resource that matters — time, or the length of wall you are allowed. Draw a wall on the wrong side and the hazard walks straight past it. The puzzle is not "make a shape." It is "find the one direction that needs blocking, and block only that."
That single constraint is what separates the players who clear it from the ones who restart. A player who draws reactively covers everything, because covering everything feels safe. A player who reads first looks at where the hazard is moving from, draws a wall anchored on solid ground across that line, and lets the rest of the dog stay open. The second player passes with less wall and less panic.
There is a second geometry rule hiding in the same level, and it is the one most people learn the hard way: the wall has to be anchored. A line floating in the air does not block anything, because the hazard walks around it. The wall only reads as a wall when its ends sit on something solid — a ledge, a corner, the edge of the screen. So the real question each turn is not "what shape should I draw" but "which two solid points does this wall need to connect."
That is the whole game, once you see it. Direction, then anchors. Cover the threat's line, brace the wall on solid ground, and stop. Everything else on screen — the dog, the hazard, the look of it — is decoration over a two-step geometry check.
The reason it is worth naming this is that the same two rules show up across a lot of the shelf's puzzle games whenever something has to be blocked or protected. It is never about covering everything. It is about figuring out which single direction matters and where the wall can actually stand.
